About the Item

Pair of large statues carved in the round, probably representing cerulean angels (although there is no evidence of wings on the back), or allegories of fortune (in which case we can think that they carry horns of plenty). Lime wood or similar, original rechampi and gilding "a mecca". Very nice effect of movement. Italy Genova? 1st half of the 17th century. 90x49 cm for one; 91x51 cm for the other.
