About the Item

A graceful alabaster sculpture from Volterra, Tuscany, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, depicting a young flower girl carrying a basket brimming with blossoms. The figure is rendered with softness and natural poise: her weight rests gently on one leg, her dress falls in quiet folds, and her expression is tender and thoughtful. The basket is finely carved, with layered petals that add texture and depth against the smooth surface of the figure.
