About the Item

Elegant and unique bronze sculpture. This work is a tribute to Brazilian Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna, a three-time world champion, who died in an accident during the 1994 Imola Grand Prix. The sculpture features a parallelepiped base engraved with the driver's famous quote, "We should give everyone a chance." The sculpture was commissioned in 1999 by the Ayrton Senna Institute - a charity founded by the driver, whose initials appear on the left side of the inscription - from Turin-based sculptor Marcello Giovannone, whose signature is visible on one of the two short sides of the work, of which this is the first work. The uniqueness and refinement of this sculpture lies in the depiction of the pilot's helmet, almost life-size, complete with brands and inscriptions, supported by a shadowy crowd of men. It is a work of great taste and elegance, capable of adding a touch of history and sophistication to any decor. Italian manufacture, late 20th century. Dimensions: H x W x D 48 x 34 x 26cm
