About the Item

Life-size terracotta statue of the Roman goddess Ceres. The attribute originally held in her left hand — a bundle of wheat — is now missing. The surface has been gently cleaned and the sculpture restored in selected areas. Published in: Pattern Book of the Inzersdorf Earthenware Factory of the Wienerberger Brickworks and Construction Company, Vienna, dated 1879, plate 244.
