About the Item
Original white Carrara marble sculpture.
Sculpture of Head of Medusa type Rondanini placed on trapezoid with griffin and capital inspired by the model of Giustiniani collection, Torlonia collection.
Medusa, mythological character, one of the three Gorgons, was killed by Perseus.
The sculpture consists of the trapezoid with capital above (two separate pieces but with connecting iron, total h cm87.5)
Placed on base h cm 12, detached from trapezoid but connected with iron pin.
on top, the Medusa h 45 total including turned base 10 cm high, the head and base are not attached but there is also an iron pin here.
