About the Item
Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown opalescent blue and white, with gold flecks Italian art glass farmer woman figure. Created in the manner of the A.Ve.M. (Arte Vetraria Muranese) and Barovier e Toso companies. The woman is in action, cutting down her harvest of wheat, or cane sugar. Her top blouse is transparent blue, with an opal head scarf. The flared out skirt is more heavy with opalescent glass. Her cutting tool is also opal glass. Her face is very well sculpted, with every feature visible. She stands on a round clear and gold leaf base. As you can see from the photos on the black background, it is profusely covered in gold leaf throughout. Would make a great display piece on any console table, or in a curio cabinet. You will be able to showcase it as a decorative piece in any room. Mid-century era. Measures: 9" tall x 7” wide at the skirt x 5 1/2” wide.
