About the Item
Beautiful vintage Murano hand blown Sommerso pink with gold flecks Italian art glass couple of a man and woman farmer / gardener sculptures. Attributed to designer, and Master glass artist Alfredo Barbini, circa 1950 - 1960s. The color on them is pink, but they have tiny little blue color dots within, making it an amethyst-pink color. The male sculpture is holding a shovel, and wearing a hat. The female figure has a flared skirt, and is holding 2 very large flowers. They are on their way to, or back from gardening. Both of them are profusely covered in heavy gold leaf. They are standing on black bases, with a ribbed design and gold leaf throughout. Would make great display pieces on any vanity, dresser or credenza. Mid-century era. Male figure measures 9 1/2" tall. Female figure measures 9" tall.
