About the Item

Pair 18th Century Hand-Carved Polychromed Wood Angels are amazingly well preserved and perfect for any devotional display. Sculpted from solid blocks of walnut, each features amazing detail from the folds of their robes to the feathers of their wings. Both are depicted in the act of prayer, with distinctively different poses and very expressive faces. As was typical of devotional works from the era, it was a traditional practice of not signing one's work, but dedicating the work to the glory of God as humbly as possible. What an amazing find!
