About the Item

A pair of hand-painted porcelain figurines in Baroque style, depicting an elegant lady and a gallant musketeer, gracefully posed in richly detailed 18th-century attire. Crafted in Germany in the 20th century, these statues are finished in vibrant polychrome enamels and stand atop ornate removable bases with cobalt blue and gold Rococo-style scrollwork. The lady, with a coy smile and delicate fan in hand, wears a lush green and burgundy gown, while the musketeer, dons a sash and sword with expressive posture and flamboyant costume. Their theatrical flair and elaborate decoration evoke courtly romance and noble pride. A collectible and decorative duo for lovers of European porcelain art. Take into account that the colors on the items may vary depending on the type of lighting and the type of screen from which you see the images.

The king announced to Europe in 1710 that he would open a porcelain manufactory in Dresden. He instead opened one at nearby Albrechtsburg castle. Espionage was rampant, and the king guarded his porcelain secret, even though it meant imprisoning workers within the castle walls.
