About the Item
An impressive and true pair of late 19th century patinated bronze and sienna marble warrior statues. Each statue is raised on a curved sienna marble support below the patinated bronze base signed Hunt. One figure has an elaborately chased armor with a flowing drape on his back and palmettes on his helmet. His right hand is on the hilt of his sword and his left is outstretched holding a scroll. The other soldier, with a defensive stance, has a decorative plume on his helmet with flowing drape holding his sword as if to draw.
