About the Item
Pair of Derby Figures depicting 'Welch Tailor and his Wife on Goats' circa 1800.
These Derby figures were originally copied from the Meissen originals ( sculptor J J Kaendler).
They have lovely detail from the little children and kids in the baskets to the panniers and tailors tools and both painted in vibrant enamels.
They each measure approx. 17cm (6.5") high, 12cm (4.5") long and 7.5cm (3") wide. Overall condition is very good, however the female's figurine's goat has lost the stub of her tail.
