About the Item

A most charming and high quality pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. ormolu, Rouge Griotte, and black Belgian marble statues. Each statue is raised by a circular black Belgian marble base with an elegant mottled wrap around Rouge Griotte marble band below the socle shaped pedestal support. Above are outstanding and most charming ormolu winged cherubs each wearing a wonderfully executed flowing garment. One is playing the flute while the other is holding up a tambourine. Wonderful richly chased details throughout.
