About the Item

A beautiful and fanciful pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. patinated bronze and ormolu statues. Each statue is raised by a circular ormolu base with a twisted rope design and a mottled border. One of the statues depicts three charming and richly chased cherubs playing and eating an apple and the other depicts three playful cherubs, one blowing a horn while the other is trying to take it from him. Wonderful quality and scale.
