About the Item

A striking pair of Italian 19th century Neo-Classical st. polychrome, giltwood, and faux painted marble columns/floor lamps. Each unique lamp is raised by a wonderfully executed faux painted Verde marble bases below mottled polychrome socle supports with lovely foliate giltwood accents. The impressive square tapered central supports display exceptional and finely detailed faux painted Porphyry designs with remarkable richly carved caryatid busts above with long tied hair and striking fluted giltwood headpieces. The busts above house light bulbs emitting a beautiful warm glow upwards illuminating the wall behind.
