A most impressive true pair of Italian 19th century terra cotta statues of lions, circa 1850. Each statue is raised by a rectangular base with a beautiful ground like design and a serpent that the lion has trapped under his paw. Each richly detailed handsome roaring lion above is in a crouching position. All original wonderful patina throughout.
