About the Item
An exquisite terracotta statuette of a beautiful nude young woman with a serene countenance, her arms stretched up to fan her cascading hair. The setting in which she stands is embellished with low swirling waves or perhaps a seashell, reminiscent of Botticelli's 'Birth of Venus'. This petite statuette is crafted from terracotta, with a rustic 'non-finito' finish and authentic patina which adds a great deal of charm. It is signed on its rear with the initials 'H.A.' and is dated 1909.
