About the Item

San Giuseppe con Bambino in Terracotta splendido esempio di plastica bolognese del 1700, dalla cerchia dello scultore italiano Angelo Gabriello Piò (Bologna 1690 – 1770). Modellato a figura intera, il santo è appoggiato su di una base quadrata, vestito con un mantello ocra sopra un camice color verdino e scalzo. In braccio regge il Bimbo con le braccia aperte, mentre entrambi si guardano amorevolmente. Questa antica scultura religiosa è stata restaurata in quanto in passato, per ovviare ad una riparazione sulle gambe venne fatto un restauro integrativo, completando il panneggio del camice sino alla base per favorire la stabilità. La figura è stata riportata alla condizione originaria rimuovendo tutte le aggiunte. Il San Giuseppe risale al 1700 e proviene da una collezione privata milanese. Spediamo dall'Italia.
