About the Item
Striking large-format metal sculpture group offering a three-dimensional interpretation of Pablo Picasso’s iconic mural Guernica. This ensemble translates the symbolic and emotional power of the original painting into sculptural language, where each character gains presence, volume, and expressive intensity through sharply defined forms and layered silhouettes. Central figures such as the bull, the wounded horse, the mourning mother, and the figure in flames are all reimagined as individual freestanding sculptures that together reconstruct the powerful scene. The surface treatment ,subtle satin and darkened finishes, evokes the original grayscale palette of the painting. One figure is signed with the artist initials “AB”, and the entire work was handcrafted in the late 20th century. A visually commanding and historically resonant composition, created as a sculptural homage to one of the most influential works of the 20th century.
