About the Item

This listing is for the bust alone. The marble pedestal is sold separately. Hand crafted bust of a young boy, signed “Sendelbach.” The sculpture is crafted from clay and finished in gold paint. The piece is mounted to a slate pedestal. Artist signature appears at the base of the neck and appears to read “Sendelbach.” We're uncertain about the age, but our best guess is circa 1970's. Hand-crafted clay sculpture depicting a young boy, signed “Sendelbach,” finished in radiant gold paint and mounted on a slate pedestal (pedestal sold separately). The facial features are rendered with delicate realism — soft cheek contours, gently modeled hair, serene yet attentive expression — juxtaposed against the bold, reflective gold finish. The artist’s signature is present at the base of the neck (“Sendelbach”), making this piece immediately identifiable. Clay is in original condition with no cracks or loss; gold finish retains much of its original luster. The pedestal shows a few minor spots consistent with age and handling, adding character without undermining visual integrity. Though modest in scale, this bust commands attention. It works beautifully on mantels, floating shelves, or console tables; ideally placed where light can play off the gold surfaces and shadow defines form. Its presence pairs well with dark woods, marble, brass or mirrored surfaces, elevating surroundings with its golden voice. For collectors of figurative sculpture, vintage clay works, or those who delight in artist signed decorative art, this bust offers both lineage and visual drama. It’s more than ornament — a portrait with personality, story, and decorative impact. Fantasy Female Bust Figure Original by Daniel Painter, Plaster Fiberglass
By Daniel Painter
Located in Chattanooga, TN
This commanding female bust by Daniel Painter—titled “Fantasía”—is a striking synthesis of modern sensuality and classical poise. Cast in a rare combination of plaster and fiberglass, the sculpture merges tactile delicacy with structural permanence. Painter’s hand is evident in every contour: the elongated neck, stylized hair, and serene gaze evoke both ancient Greek ideals and mid-century surrealist dreamscapes. The work’s monumental scale and sculptural luminosity elevate it beyond decorative art; it becomes a meditation on beauty, imagination, and form. Under ambient light, the matte surface catches soft shadows across the figure’s cheekbones and shoulders, revealing Painter’s mastery of proportion and rhythm. This piece belongs as comfortably in a refined modernist interior as it does in a contemporary gallery context. The artist began with a mold created from a human model...
