About the Item
The sculpture with a rough textured finish and abstract figural form, characteristic of the brutalist style, emphasizes the raw material and focuses on the form and movement over realistic detail. The sculpture reminiscent of the work of Giovanni Paganin (1913-1997).
The figure depicts a dancer, possibly nude, with her head arched back, arms outward, standing on her toes on a shallow plinth and surmounted on rectangular black marble.
Indistinctly signed in the base as shown.
Dimensions: 8 1/2" W, 6" D and 12 3/4" H
Condition: Please see detail photos. There is a tiny nick to corner of marble plinth mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is very strong.
