About the Item

A very special studio art ceramic pottery sculpture of two - perhaps lesbian - mermaids sharing a secret, signed, mid twentieth century. This unique sculpture also doubles as a catchall or trinket dish, with each mermaid tale creating a nifty place for one’s jewels. Part glazed, part raw clay, this piece boasts tones of sand, sienna, and cerulean. In repose upon a gossip bench, one dark-haired siren whispers a secret to a fair-haired siren who gazes back in delight - not least since her left breast is also being fondled. An incredibly unique piece of studio art, signed on verso of sculpture.
