This South Arabian sandstone stele is a decorative sculpture inspired by the pre-Islamic funerary pillars of ancient Yemen. Entirely hand-carved in natural, sand-toned stone, it reflects the symbolic and minimalist aesthetics of southern Arabian civilizations.
The stylized face—with almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, and tight lips—recalls ancient human representations, balanced between archaeological art and modern abstraction. The “Ideograms” model pays homage to anonymous faces that embody spiritual identity and ancestral memory.
