About the Item
A compact figural sculpture of a man squatting with hands clasping his thighs, and is likely a protective charm or Guardian figure. Faintly smiling, the figure displays well defined eye, ears and mouth and wears either a top knot or hat atop his head and originally was stained or painted. The Sculpture is hand-carved, in original condition and believed to be from either Indonesia or Africa and dating to the Mid 20th Century.
Dimensions: 15.5” high by 5.5” wide by 5” deep.
Condition: Please see detail photos. The Sculpture is in original timeworn condition with areas of paint or stain loss revealing the wood and there are some minor losses as well as expected wear and losses to the base being mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is strong and authentic.
