About the Item

A lovely and affectionate true pair of French 19th century Louis XVI st. Alabama Rose Marble, Ormolu, white Carrara marble, and Bisque Porcelain statues entitled 'Le Baiser Donné et Le Baiser Rendu'. Each bust sculpture is raised by a square block of Alabama Rose Marble below a circular white Carrara marble support with an linked Ormolu chain surrounding and a circular mottled edge and tapered Ormolu pedestal. Mounted above each pedestal are the Bisque Porcelain figures representing a tender embrace between lovers sharing a kiss. Each Porcelain sculpture is tastefully decorated with a garland of flowers around both of the figures and floral crowns on each of their heads.
