Description:  Antique 19th century Victorian solid silver important figural hunting statue, dipicting a huntsman holding a fox and his hounds at his feet. Standing tall on an ebonized plinth applied with an engraved plaque 'Presented to W.J Buckley Esquire, April, 18th, 1895' Hallmarked English silver (925 standard), Birmingham, year 1894, maker E&CoLd (Elkington Co Ltd) Condition:  In great condition - no damage. Size:  Height 33.5 cm. Width (base) 20.5 x 14 cm. Total weight 2952 g.

An exceptional, fine and impressive vintage Elizabeth II English cast sterling silver presentation trophy/centerpiece; an addition to our presentation silverware collection. This exceptional vintage English sterling silver presentation trophy/centerpiece has a levelled podium style, tiered form. The central platform retains the original, exceptional and hallmarked cast sterling silver figure attired in full Scottish highland dress and playing bagpipes. The lower tiers are fitted with the original hallmarked cast ornaments, each modelled in the form of a jockey mounted on a stationary horse, standing on grass terrain base. Each model is secured to the original ebonized wood plinth. The impressive plinth retains the original three sterling silver rectangular plaques to one side; if required the plinth could be fitted with further bespoke sterling silver presentation plaques suitable for a personal inscription. Presenting a magnificent Victorian silvered bronze centerpiece of unmatched rarity and importance, crafted by the renowned Elkington Mason Co., Birmingham, in 1859. This exceptional work, complete with its original cut-glass bowl, epitomizes 19th-century British craftsmanship and artistry. Hallmarked to the base, this centerpiece showcases intricate sculptural details, embodying a high level of technical prowess and aesthetic refinement characteristic of Elkington's celebrated works. The centerpiece's striking design features three meticulously rendered figures—a young hunter, a friar, and a fishmonger—each embodying elements of Victorian life and industry. At their feet, a loyal spaniel and various game highlight the naturalistic approach to the composition, enhanced by the masterful chasing and dynamic form.
