About the Item
A 1980s bronze sculpture of a helmeted figure on a solid walnut base by Louisiana artist William Ludwig (1935-2011).. Although New England born in Hartford, CT., he was known as a southern artist and served on the faculties at Loyola University and Tulane University in New Orleans. He came of age in the 1960s and many of his works represent the ambiguities and realities of war that were encoded upon him during the Vietnam era.
