Exceptionally rare large 19th-century French articulated artist’s mannequin, finely carved in walnut with fully functioning joints and a beautifully matured patina. Particularly striking is the head, unusually and exquisitely sculpted—a feature seldom seen in mannequins of this type. With refined androgynous proportions and discreet age-appropriate wear, it retains a remarkable sculptural presence. Originally made for the study of pose, light, and foreshortening in painters’ and sculptors’ ateliers, it now stands as a distinguished object for collectors and curated interiors
