18th century Italian gold leaf candlestick top with polished fossil agate coral and natural forming Baroque pearls. The 18th century fragment comes from Tuscany and has the original candlestick wax drip-tray attached. Fossil agate coral is Florida's state stone and is known for its unique formation that can take place over 20 million years. It's a natural gemstone that is created when Prehistoric coral is gradually replaced with agate.
The Italian church candlestick top artifact, fossil agate coral, and Baroque pearls are put together in a sculptural form - creating a piece that appears to have evolved together over time. Interpreting the past to create a piece entirely original, evolving in its own right.
