Early 20th Century Granary Door Lock, Bamana Peoples, Mali
A figurative wood door lock from the Bamana (Bambara) people of Mali. This probably depicts a female ancestor whose features are conveyed in very simple abstract form. Her neck from the side view has a marvelous crook and the patina shows age and much use. Sold with a custom painted metal base.
