About the Item

Max Neufeldt “Assembledge” Mixed-Media Assemblage, 1975 An original 1975 assemblage by California artist Max Neufeldt, this sculptural collage marries an eclectic array of found materials—sections of carpet, banister fragments, tin pans, ceramic tiles, a vintage photograph and more—into a harmoniously textured relief. Each element is thoughtfully arranged on a sturdy wooden panel, exemplifying Neufeldt’s signature fusion of industrial and domestic artifacts. The resulting work feels both grounded and lyrical, evoking memories of everyday life rendered poetic through his artful composition. Dimensions Height: 25.50″ Width : 25.00″ Depth : 4.25″ Condition Very good original vintage condition. All components securely attached; surface patina and minor age-related wear consistent with a 1970s mixed-media piece. Signed on the back “Neufeldt Santa Barbara.” Born in Sylvia, Kansas in 1938 and raised in Mount Vernon, New York, Max Neufeldt earned his MFA from Pratt Institute before establishing himself in Venice and Santa Barbara, California. His celebrated career was built on transforming quotidian objects—scissors, cheese graters, keys, and architectural remnants—into what critics called “quiet relics of a pre-digital age.” Neufeldt exhibited at institutions such as the Pasadena Art Museum and was featured in major design publications throughout the American West. He passed away in 2025, leaving behind a legacy of work that continues to resonate for its inventive use of materials and quietly poetic spirit. Provenance From the Estate of Max Neufeldt (Santa Barbara, CA). Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity issued by the estate.

Mixed-Media Sculpture Dror Karta
By Dror Karta
Located in Palm Springs, CA
A wonderful mixed-media sculpture by the noted Israeli Artist Dror Karta. This sculpture was in a traveling exhibition and is pictured in the book. The exhibition was about Palestinian and Israeli artists, who were given the same bowl to start. This is the actual piece. It is signed as well. It is a ceramic bowl, four glass leaves and lots of little bottles inside loose. The glass leaves are molded into the ceramic base by some kind of white epoxy. The leaves have been repaired at the base with the epoxy and quite a few of the little bottles have damage. There is a small chip on the underside. A brief Bio of the artist follows from the artist's website follows; Biography 1965 Born in Natanya, Israel 1985 Wounded during military service 1988-1992 Study graphic design in "Hadasa-vizo Canada college of design" Haifa, Israel 1994 Opens studio for painting, sculpturing and designing 1998 Moves to Ein-Hod Artist Village, Israel 2001-2003 Lives and works in Amsterdam, NL Group exhibitions 1998 "Shesh-Besh", Pyramid contemporary art gallery, Haifa, Israel 1998 "60 Horse Power", holiday of holidays art...
