Early 20th Century Copper 'Mbole' Currency Measure : 25x13cm H:45cm Ø 23cm Materials and Techniques: Copper Place of Origin: Congo Period: Early 20th Century A stylistic distillation of this Mbole coin, a perfect example of its hollowed-out circular form,rhythmed by an open axis at its apex. Its patina, seemingly hammered by use, attests tothe numerous exchanges in which it was involved. Private collection.In very good condition. Bronze sculpture of a ring, hollowed out and truncated by part of its circumference. On a custom-made stand.
