About the Item
This door once occupied the entrance of a traditional Timor long house, dating to the early 20th century the door is visibly old with a wonderful age related patina and weathering. Timor is an island amid the eastern islands of Indonesia. This panel was carved with exceptional skill from a single block of hard-wood. The door sits on a black iron stand. A wonderful decorative, tribal object certain to invoke conversation. Its neutral colour makes it the perfect addition to any space, bringing texture
warmth. Given the detailed and elaborate carvings this door likely belonged to someone of nobility or high ranking.
