Self-taught sculptor. Niels Helledie works primarily in ceramic as a medium. He prefers the human form as a motif, which is presented in a naive, simplified, straightforward expression related to both 13th-century Romanesque art and ancient ritual art. Niels Helledie has created many decorative works in different places for the Church of Denmark, and his works may also be seen at the Vendsyssel Art Museum.
