About the Item

Polychrome porcelain group depicting a young woman opening a bird cage. German manufacture of the 19th century. The group is based on a 1772 model by Johann Carl Schönheit for the Meissen manufactory. Mint condition. Never restored. This figurine is simply delightful. The young damsel opening the golden cage to let her baby bird escape is an image of absolute tenderness.
