About the Item
A pair of 18th century Italian gilded and hand-carved bases with two matching angel wing shells and adorned with coordinating natural forming baroque pearls. The hand-carved, gold leaf bases were originally part of a candlestick from a church in Italy.
The pair of gilded fragments were collected and transformed by Jean O'Reilly Barlow, the artist and creative director of Interi. The period shows that the Italian candlesticks are originally 18th century and the date of manufacture shows when she transformed the pieces with the natural specimens.
The Italian fragment artifacts, shells, and baroque pearls are joined together to create a pair of historical yet contemporary sculptures to grace any space.
