About the Item
Impressive teak wood doors with original hardware. This beautiful door could also be made into a coffee table, used as a head board or hung as a piece of art. The circle meaning is the Yin and the Yang. The black colour is Yin the darkness and white is Yang the clear situation. The left door is 26" wide and the right door is 28" wide. When life-force energy is appropriately balanced between Yin and Yang, it flows smoothly maintaining and promoting a good state of physical and emotional health.
This door was sourced in the spirit of Wabi-Sabi, a Japanese philosophy that beauty can be found in imperfection and impermanence. It is a beauty of things modest and humble. A beauty of things unconventional. It is the opposite of vulgarity. The costs of achieving this kind of minimalism are seemingly inconsistent with its mission of aesthetic humility. This kind of luxury is for a select few: The Emperor of Japan had a Wabi garden. Wabi is for people who already have a lot.
