About the Item
Resin and lucite sculpture with barbed wired substructure by Yeffe Kimbal. This piece was made during her "fused earth" period inspired by a piece of earth that was fused during Manhattan Project nuclear tests that her husband, Harvey Slatin, a physicist who worked on the Manhattan Project, possessed. The sculpture depicts a nuclear mushroom cloud. It is rare and unique in that the majority of Kimball's works are paintings.
