Mid to late 20th century incised bamboo comb, Huon Gulf, Morobe Province, Papua New Guinea This large incised comb is typical of the bamboo combs of the Huon Gulf area. This particular example is 11.5 inches high and 4.25 inches wide, or 13 inches high as mounted on the custom metal base. From the estate of Cathryn Cootner, former textile curator at the de Young Museum, San Francisco.
