About the Item
Origin: Minas Gerais, Brazil
The name aquamarine comes from the Latin, aqua marinā, sea water. Its name refers to its color. Brazil stands out among the largest producers of this mineral, since it has several mines in the country, especially in Minas Gerais. Aquamarine veins can also be found on African soil: Nigeria, Madagascar, Pakistan, Zimbabwe and Namibia.
During the Middle Ages, it was believed that this stone acted as an antidote to any poison. In ancient Egypt, aquamarine beads were inserted between the bandages of mummies so that they would have protection when they passed to the afterlife. Because of its color, aquamarine was formerly known as the stone of the sailor, who offered it to Poseidon, to protect them during the voyage.
In this collection we present a Aquamarine mounted in original design acrylic base.

Natural Chrysocolla Malachite Specimen
Located in Wormelow, Herefordshire
A large scale natural chrysocolla malachite specimen originating from Congo. A rare find, some of the world’s finest malachite comes from Congo. This exceptional mineral has an irregular form that has been moulded by nature over thousands of years. Showcasing a vibrant combination of vivid blues (chrysocolla) and rich greens (malachite), this specimen is a striking sculptural piece for an interior or collector’s cabinet, mounted on a bespoke steel stand for display.
First discovered over 4000 years ago, malachite has been adored for its colour and beauty since ancient times. While a popular item for jewels and amulets, the mineral was often ground down and the pigment used as a luscious green paint for architecture or even a vivid green eyeshadow! Chrysocolla is frequently intergrown with other minerals such as quartz and malachite like...
