A mirrored pair of agate slices that embodies true rarity—this superb Brazilian agate is easily among the rarest we have ever seen. This natural masterpiece forms a harmonious, butterfly-like display, its fine lacework of agate layers creating a sense of movement and life. It’s a specimen that truly belongs in a world-class mineral collection or as a breathtaking centerpiece in any space.
Nature truly outdid itself in recreating the elegant shape of butterfly wings, with these two agate slices fitting together in perfect symmetry. Their flowing agate and crystal patterns so reminiscent of living wings that once you see it, you can’t unsee it. It’s a genuine work of art from Mother Nature, a geological masterpiece that reflects the beauty of a living creature.
The formation of the agate layers and composition is yet another rarity. Moss agate, which is seldom found in pieces from Ametista do Sul and creates patterns reminiscent of forests, in the case of this geode, it formed the wing's edges, beautifully transitioning to the blue and white bands, creating a lake-like image that continues, lace by lace, toward the center where the purple amethyst crystal formed.
With minimal, self-healed fractures and no treatment at all, the agate is of super-extra grade, a delicate specimen that comes in a custom-made stand so you can fully enjoy it.
