High-Grade Clear Quartz Crystal Sphere with Multiple Internal Rainbows – Diamantina, Brazil
▫️ Description
This high-grade clear quartz crystal sphere is a rare and refined specimen carved from natural quartz sourced in Diamantina, Brazil—a region historically known for diamond mining in the 18th and 19th centuries and now recognized for producing some of the clearest quartz in the world.
The sphere displays a high level of transparency, interrupted only by natural internal fractures that create multiple internal rainbows when light passes through the crystal. These internal formations form delicate, organic patterns, giving the sphere a visual depth and character that is especially sought after in Diamantina quartz.
The quartz used for this sphere was hand-cut and carefully polished by an experienced artisan in Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais. The final polish was completed using cerium oxide, the same compound used in fine gemstone cutting, resulting in a smooth, mirror-like surface while preserving the crystal’s natural integrity.
