High-Grade Diamantina Quartz Crystal Sphere with Natural Rainbows
▫️ Description
This large clear quartz crystal sphere is a high-grade specimen carved from quartz sourced in Diamantina, Brazil—a region once known for diamond mining in the 18th and 19th centuries and now recognized for producing some of the clearest quartz in the world.
Inside the sphere, natural internal features form beautiful “drawings” through the crystal, creating countless internal rainbows that appear easily as light moves across the surface. This type of rainbow-rich clarity is especially valued in Diamantina quartz.
The sphere was hand-cut and polished by an experienced artisan in Governador Valadares, Minas Gerais, then finished with cerium oxide—the same compound used in fine gemstone cutting—resulting in a smooth, mirror-like polish that highlights the crystal’s transparency and internal light play.
