Striking wall mirror with handcarved 'blue thistles'. Via one of our foreign contacts we recently purchased this perfectly realistic thistle sculptures wall mirror. This all handcarved wooden frame displays a group of blue thistles (as they are called) and these very well carved wild flowers are gold painted which makes them stand out perfectly against the stained wooden background. We date this finest workmanship mirror to the midcentury era (1960s or 1970s) and apart from some minor fading of the original, beveled mirror itself, it could not be in better condition. Thanks to the brass brackets on the back mounting this stylish and artistic piece won't take more than a few minutes. Thanks to its unique design, this mirror could look the part in an Art Deco, in an Arts and Crafts, but also in a midcentury interior. It even has a touch of Hollywood Regency in it.
