About the Item

Rare Dark Blue Lace Agate Geode with Amethyst Druzy and Amethyst over Calcite Specimen ▫️ Description Definitely not your average agate geode, this piece stands out as a true specimen thanks to its rare, one-of-a-kind pointed amethyst growth over calcite and the remarkably intact lace agate banding. Both visually beautiful and geologically special, it is an aesthetic agate ready to become the centerpiece of a collection or a refined decorative element in your space. The Amethyst over Calcite takes the center-stage. The amethyst crystals grew over an earlier calcite phase, leaving behind a distinctive ghosted geometry where the calcite once occupied space. This results in a sharply defined, angular protrusion within the cavity, now fully coated in sparkling amethyst crystals. Nature painstakingly formed the agate layers, revealing growth patterns developed over millions of years. The bands of this geode begin with deep sea-blue tones until reaching the center, where white lace agate and sparkling lavender amethyst are found. It is very important to note that this agate geode is presented in its purest form—100% natural and untreated. It has only been carefully cut and polished to reveal and enhance its natural beauty. Outstanding from every angle, this dark blue lace agate geode is sure to be a prized addition to any crystal collection, mineral display, or décor. Check out the photos to see more details, and feel free to message us if you have any questions or specific requests. 🤍 You may be wondering how the blue lace agate layers formed. It’s fascinating: agates typically form inside bubbles or cavities in igneous (volcanic) basalt. Over time, these cavities fill with water rich in silica. As the water slowly evaporates, it leaves behind layers of silica gel that harden into bands. Each layer carries different impurities, resulting in the distinctive colored laces you see today.
