About the Item
This natural red sculpture is called pseudo stromatolite.
Pseudo stromatolites are concretions of red sandstone that are made with the same phenomenom as stromatolites. Difference is that here, there is no cyanobacteria.
We also call them desert gogottes, as they are from the concretions family and come in very various shapes and sizes.
This specimen is medium size (as we can find some that are around 1 meter high, weighing several dozen of kilograms.
This one weighs 4 kg with the stand and is 22cm high, 12cm wide, 14cm deep.
The stand is custom made, especially to fit and follow the natural shape of the specimen.
