About the Item

A very rare and exquisite table-top amethyst formation. The long fromation preserves a prominent golden calcite crystal on a bed of deep purple amethyst and is particularly sculptural. The calcite is itself covered in rare goethite and white quartz, creating an intense sparkle. The piece has been cut from a larger geode, formed within volcanic rock over millions of years. The borders preserve the wonderful layers of green celadonite and exteriorly the rough basalt, allowing us to appreciate the formation process. Dimension of the piece: H 12cm x W 20.5cm x D 6.5cm Legally and ethically sourced directly from the prestigious mines of Artigas, Uruguay. An exceptional and rare piece, unusual for its size and variety of crystal formations.

This rare combination makes it a standout piece for crystal aficionados, collectors, and décor artists seeking something truly extraordinary. The whole geode commands attention, and the first thing we notice is the calcite. It formed in different ways, with some perfectly crystallized formations adding a delicate touch to the specimen. The main calcite in this piece is a crystal after calcite, which could be a specimen in itself. Looking closely at it, on the back part of the geode, we find beautiful small amethyst rosettes...
