Rare Natural Artwork: Rare Blue and White Lace Agate Geode with Striped Patterns, All-Intact
Description
A geode full of secrets and breathtaking beauty. This rare agate geode slice is a perfectly intact masterpiece, featuring dozens of continuous agate laces in vivid colors that create a stunning natural artwork for your collection or space.
Let's reveal its secrets. First, notice the tiny geode at the bottom left—it appears embraced by the white agate laces and holds delicate pink crystals within, how it formed is a question that is buried in the past. Another hidden detail is on the backside, where a fragment of white lace seems to have detached from the geode and been “reglued” by quartz. How did it happen? It remains a mystery!
Over millions of years, nature crafted the white and blue agate layers, weaving them into an intricate lace pattern. The process began with consecutive deep blue layers that, for reasons unknown, transformed into white laces—each adorned with a thin line of blue. This gradual transformation resulted in a dramatic, bold design, crowned by a purple amethyst interior.
Another rare feature of this agate geode is its perfect continuity. The agate laces flow seamlessly throughout the entire piece, with no visible cracks.
A top-tier agate geode, it will look perfect on your gallery shelf or as a standout addition to your décor, leaving friends in awe. Check out the photos for more details, and feel free to send us a message if you have any questions or special requests. 🤍
You may be wondering how the lace agate layers formed.
It’s fascinating: agates typically form inside bubbles or cavities in igneous (volcanic) basalt. Over time, these cavities fill with water rich in silica. As the water slowly evaporates, it leaves behind layers of silica gel, which harden into bands. Each layer contains different impurities, resulting in the distinctive colored bands you see. Fantastic, right?

As a family, we were lucky to be born and live in Ametista do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil: 'The World's Amethyst Capital'. Our story begins in the 1970s, when our father had a small-scale industry of Amethyst, Agate, and Citrine, originating our passion for Crystals and Minerals. After years in the void, but always being surrounded by these fantastic crystals, we decided that it was time to bring our dreams to reality, and in 2020 we started E2D with a Mission: Every item we sell is Ethically Sourced from small miners and lapidaries, leading the path for the development of the whole supply chain, especially for the ones who need more, the miners.
