These specimen of green Fluorites from Madagascar are becoming rarer and rarer with time.
This one presented here is a great one by it's size and quality (23 cm wide, 3,7kg).
It's a scientifically interesting mineral as the word "fluorescence" (fluor + opalescence) comes from it. This mineral is composed mainly of Calcium and Fluor, but the fluorescence comes from impurities such as Yttrium or Europium, not Fluor.
Under U.V rays it shows this strong and firm blue (here 365nm rays, as UVs include several wave lengths).
