Rare, Exquisite Butterfly-Shaped Agate with Stunning Colorful Lace Details
▫️ Description
Delicate, rare, and gorgeous, these agate butterfly wings are a natural work of art. Their vibrant colors and sharply defined banding patterns make this specimen truly one-of-a-kind—a centerpiece worthy of any world-renowned collection or gallery, and an eye-catching addition to any decor.
The geode that produced these wings is a rare variety of agate found only in Soledade, Brazil. Pieces of this size are exceptional, especially with borders and interior so perfectly intact.
Nature composed the interior over millions of years, layer by layer, mineral upon mineral. Rich black, brown, and red laces frame the center, followed by clear quartz that gives way to black and blue bands, before finishing with delicate white and yellow lace.
Adding to its uniqueness, a tectonic shift likely split the geode near the end of its growth; over time it self-healed, leaving the fine line now visible running from side to side.
