Orthoceras ("straight horn") is a genus of extinct nautiloid cephalopod restricted to Middle Ordovician-aged marine limestones of the Baltic States and Sweden.
This is one of the most decorative pieces I have ever seen, its free standing and stable so it can sit just about anywhere and look expensive, important and interesting
Condition wise I can't see anything negative to note, it will most likely have some patina here and there but to my eyes and hands its in very fine order
I have a pair of much smaller table top examples listed under my other items
